About Dan
Service, teamwork, and a commitment to helping ISD 728 families thrive.

Meet Dan
Since the time I left my hometown of Duluth to join the Navy, serving my country and community has been my life's work.
As a school board member, I will bring that same commitment to ISD 728: steady leadership, service before self, and a focus on what helps all students and families thrive.
My first job in the Navy was operating nuclear reactors aboard the USS Nimitz. I served in one of the Navy’s most technically demanding career fields, leading sailors from diverse backgrounds to operate and maintain highly complex systems on the largest class of warships in the world.
We came from different places and perspectives, but we worked together to keep the Nimitz operational and defend American interests around the world. That experience shaped how I lead: with teamwork, cooperation, accountability, and respect for the mission.
I met my wife, Dora, in the Navy. After a combined 17 years of service, we left active duty to start a family in Rogers. Dora and I continued our careers in nuclear power at a civilian nuclear plant, and I continued serving in the Navy Reserve as a Cyber Warfare Technician.
Our first mission outside the Navy has been the most challenging and the most meaningful: raising a large family. Dora and I have three children of our own, and we have cared for Dora’s nephew since he was 12. We know what it means to raise a family in ISD 728 from pre-K through high school, including the good, the hard, and everything in between.
I’m running for school board because I want to help guide the district in a direction that enriches the lives of all students and helps families thrive.
